Winners 2009
Congratulations to Jonathan Alexander! Once again he has won the Westleton Mens Race- he has a great record in this race over the past few years and is surely the ante-post favourite for 2010.
Sandra Howarth won the Westleton Ladies Race with a great performance. Sarah Willis became the Ladies Allcomers winner and Scott Devereux won the Mens Allcomers Race. It is great to see the races becoming more competitive every year.
The newly named Robin Holmes- Jack Docwra Challenge Trophy between The White Horse and The Crown was this year declared a tie. That leaves the overall score at one-all, so both teams are already training hard for next year's event.
Robin Holmes was the father of Paul Holmes, the current chairman of the Barrel Fair. Robin was a big supporter of the Barrel Fair, and passed away several years ago. Jack Docwra sadly died just before this year's event, but was the winner of the very first barrel race back in the 1950s.
